Ranch water is a refreshing cocktail typically made with blanco tequila, lime juice and sparkling water. Some say that it gets its name from the ranchers' drink of choice after a long day. Texas claims credit for it but others from Mexico have also told me that they created it or variations of it. Regardless, it's a great way to enjoy tequila.
We currently have the traditionally used Topo Chico Sparkling Mineral Water as well as a Blueberry Hibiscus, Lime, and Tangerine. Top Chico is sourced from and bottled in Mexico since 1895. The drink takes its name from the mountain Cerro del Topo Chico. Because the mineral water is very low in calories, some think of the Ranch Water as an alternative to the "skinny margarita." For example, the Tangerine Topo Chico Sparkling Water I am enjoying right now is only 15 calories for the whole can and Topo Chico claims it is made with real fruit.
For a sweeter higher calorie take you can opt for one of our many Jarritos flavors. We have Watermelon today which I think would be slapp'n as my daughter says in a Ranch Water cocktail. Others enjoy Sprite or soda water but I suggest you try it with one of the Topo Chico sparkling waters and pretend you are in sunny Mexico today or until the Topo Chico sells out. Cheers!
