We will have a Grand time together learning about tequila, tasting samples and enjoying cocktails featuring the appropriate tequila expressions.
Tequila has a history centuries in the making from the Aztecs to modern brands endorsed by some of our favorite celebrities. Tequila takes time to make. You might be surprised just how long from planting the agave until we pour it in your glass. Tequila takes lots of time (here's a little math for you). With all this spirited history, who better to feature for our event but Gran Centenario. This company has 150 years of history and has proclaimed itself the Guardian of Tradition, proudly carrying "Mexican traditions and heritage for generations."
Grand Centenario is a special order small batch premium tequila here but is easily accessible in Mexico. It might be considered the #1 tequila there. It's even the sponsor of the Mexican Soccer Team so it is a pretty big deal South of the Border. You can read more about it on their website here.
In addition to tequila education, this event includes a welcome cocktail, a tequila tasting flight, two additional cocktails (demoed by our bartenders and Bradley), and snacks. Plus, you'll have time to ask questions and maybe win a prize if you've paid attention until the end.
You will enjoy spending the afternoon with our Franklin Inn Crew and Bradley Markowitz. Bradley is our On Premise Sales Consultant with the Paramount Division - Pittsburgh North, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Not only is he a nice guy but he is very knowledgeable. He is a Certified Specialist of Spirit and has the WSET Level 2 Award in both Wine and Spirits.
Note: Must be 21 to attend. Space limited to 18. Class will take place in the bar. The restaurant is closed during this event and our full restaurant menu will not be available until the restaurant opens at 4pm.
